Settle in and relax on your international flight to Vienna, Austria’s imperial capital, where your journey along the storied Blue Danube begins.

DAY 2 Vienna

Upon arrival at Vienna, meet your Peony Tours representative and enjoy a comfortable transfer into the heart of Austria’s elegant capital. Sit back and relax as you pass through scenic city landscapes on the way to your hotel. Vienna, known for its refined beauty and cultural richness, offers a harmonious blend of imperial tradition and modern sophistication. Soon, check in at the hotel, after settling in, take the rest of the day to unwind or explore the nearby surroundings at your own pace.

DAY 3 Vienna - Embarkation - Melk

Begin your morning at the whimsical Hundertwasserhaus, Vienna’s architectural gem, capturing its colorful façade and exploring the gallery to experience Hundertwasser’s artistic vision. Pause for photos at the elegant Belvedere Palace, Prince Eugene’s baroque summer residence. Ascend Kahlenberg Hill for sweeping views of vineyards and the city skyline. Conclude at Schwedenplatz, where you can enjoy leisure time to explore, savor local cuisine, or stroll the charming streets, immersing yourself in the timeless elegance and vibrant spirit of Vienna.

In the afternoon, transfer by coach to the port and board your river cruise. Settle into your cabin, enjoy a welcome cocktail, and sail toward Melk.

DAY 4 Melk - Durnstein

Today will visit the magnificent Melk Abbey*, an exquisite example of Baroque architecture perched majestically above the Danube. Explore its richly adorned interiors and serene gardens before setting sail through the stunning Wachau Valley. As you cruise, take in the charming villages and romantic ruins of medieval castles that line the riverbanks. Later, we will arrive in Dürnstein, and take a tour of this charming medieval town with our guide. Immerse yourself in the enchanting ambiance of this medieval treasure before returning to the ship.

We’ll return on board at the end of the afternoon and continue cruising towards Bratislava.

DAY 5 Bratislava, Slovakia - Kalocsa, Hungary

Lying gracefully along the banks of the Danube, Slovakia’s capital city, Bratislava, blends centuries of royal history with a vibrant modern spirit. Once the coronation city of Hungarian monarchs under the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Bratislava charms visitors with its baroque architecture, pastel-colored buildings, and lively café-lined squares. On your Guided Tour of Bratislava*, wander through the cobbled streets of the Old Town, where historical landmarks meet whimsical street sculptures, offering photo-worthy moments at every turn.

Today, join us on an unforgettable excursion: The Puszta*, Hungary’s great plain-famed for its sweeping landscapes, rustic charm, and unique wildlife. Experience the spirit of the Hungarian countryside as you watch a Traditional horse show*, where skilled riders demonstrate centuries-old equestrian traditions passed down through generations. This lively performance captures the proud spirit and history of the Hungarian countryside, where time-honored customs still thrive and nature stretches as far as the eye can see. A truly memorable journey into the heart of Hungary.

The afternoon will be spent cruising towards Budapest. Relax on the deck and take in the tranquil riverside scenery before arriving in the glittering Hungarian capital later in the night.

DAY 7 Budapest

After breakfast, enjoy a Guided Tour of Budapest*, where old-world elegance blends seamlessly with vibrant city life. Once two distinct cities, Buda and Pest, unified in 1873, Budapest still showcases the unique character of each side. On the western bank, Buda captivates with its wooded hills, medieval castles, and panoramic views. On the eastern side, Pest impresses with broad boulevards, grand architecture, and lively cafés. From the iconic Chain Bridge to the magnificent Parliament building, every corner reveals a piece of history.

Upon arrival, enjoy some free time to explore Esztergom, one of Hungary’s oldest and most historically rich cities. Once the capital of the Hungarian Kingdom and the birthplace of King Saint Stephen, Hungary’s first crowned monarch, Esztergom played a pivotal role in the nation's early history. For centuries, it served as the country’s political, cultural, and spiritual heart. Towering over the Danube, the Esztergom Basilica, Hungary’s largest church, stands as a symbol of national pride and religious heritage. It was built from 1822 to 1869. Ferenc Liszt composed the Mass of Esztergom for this occasion.

After your free time, return to the ship for a relaxing afternoon as we cruise toward Vienna. This evening, enjoy our elegant Gala Night on board as we sail through the night.
